Last evening Psi sisters participated in a wonderful Founders’ Day celebration hosted by Rho chapter. Psi members were made to feel very special as our 35th Anniversary was recognized. Margy Willett did a great presentation of Psi through the years, accompanied by a fabulous slide show put together by Shannon Weston. Linda O’Grady spoke about “Sisters” referencing the song sung in the Bing Crosby movie White Christmas and thanking Rho for the lovely evening.
Our Sapphire Sisters were in attendance as well! Mary Johnson, Linda O’Grady, Margaret Tedder, Jackie Watt, Margy Willett and Giselle Whyte, Founding Members of Psi, looked on with pride, remembering all the accomplishments of Psi over the past 35 years. Earlier in the day each one received a gift from all Psi sisters – a keepsake box, a flower arrangement in a floral mug, sapphire chocolates along with violet and heart shaped sugar cookies. You can see their pictures attached. Greetings were read from Ann Ainslie, North Central Region International Vice President; Ontario Tau; Ontario Xi; Ontario Lambda; and from ADK Connect… Ivette Bender, Nebraska; Kitty Nutting South West IVP; Norma Rushing, Georgia; Marie Hurst, Chairman of the Collegiate Club Board and Marg Nieradka, Ontario President Elect.
Rho planned a beautiful program. President Lynda Ball welcomed everyone saying what a special occasion it was for Psi and Rho as well, as Psi’s charter chapter. Elizabeth McQueen spoke as Ontario President and O Canada was presented, formatted by Rho member Jennifer Vince. Rho’s Donna Kehoe encouraged us all to Bee Kind and the Tim McGraw video “Humble and Kind” was a perfect message. Speakers from Empowerment Squared spoke of their program supporting immigrant families. The ADK Founders were remembered through a “Share The Love” ceremony. Toasts were given throughout the evening! Psi members will receive a jar of honey from our Rho sisters to mark the occasion of our 35th Anniversary.
