ADK Psi Chapter in Hamilton, Ontario has been proudly supporting Brock University’s Faculty of Education by recognizing an outstanding graduating teacher with a $500 scholarship award for each of the last three years. To apply for this award, graduating teacher candidates must have demonstrated educational excellence during their finalacademic year as well as submit an application package consisting of several elements with a key criteria being a clear evidence of the candidate supporting each of ADK’s three goals or pillars – educational excellence, altruism and world understanding.
In April 2021, we were pleased to select Sarah Helmers, a teacher candidate in the Intermediate-Senior division. Due to Covid19 restrictions, we had to delay our presentation until September 23 at which time, two members of our Brock Scholarship Committee (Mary Johnson and Giselle Whyte) met with Sarah to present her with our cheque and a certificate honouring her Excellence in Education.
Congratulations to Sarah for her wonderful achievement. We are so proud of her and wish her every success in her future teaching career.
